CAIB Report Release

After an intense seven month effort the Columbia Accident Investigation Board released its 248 page report on August 26, 2003. A limited print run of a couple of hundred copies were produced with CD-ROMs and flown to Washington D.C. for release. One CAIB member delivered a copy to the White House, two to NASA Headquarters, a couple of CAIB members delivered copies to Congress, some CAIB members went to the crew's families, and several CAIB members met with the press. Only a couple of the reporters at this conference covered the Columbia mission before the accident. NASA ordered an additional print run so every employee could get a copy.
